Rivers Run is a 55+ cottage style residential community adjacent to RIT and nestled on the Genesee River in Henrietta, NY. There are 58 house-pet-friendly units and it is one of the very few 55+ living communities where residents own their home. The property includes open and natural common areas featuring walking paths, gazebos, ponds as well as a fitness/wellness center in the community center and rooms for parties, special events and Rivers Run community meetings. Located near the Canal Path, Tinker Nature Park, and Lehigh Valley Trail, there is no shortage of nature and wildlife. Bird watchers have observed over 60 different species on site (and counting).

Through an association with the Rochester Institute of Technology and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, community members have taken advantage of services such as the Wallace Library, Gordon Field House, concerts, sporting events, hearing tests & equipment. Rivers Run is also Rochester’s first and foremost University-based independent living community and is home to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at RIT. Osher is a member-led organization that offers a wide range of academic, cultural and social programs and activities to enrich and inspire adult learners over age 50.
Despite its country feel, Rivers Run has nearby access to NYS Thruway and I- 390, shopping, houses of worship and to Amtrack Railroad Station and Rochester International Airport.
